RAPP ART SYSTEM

Introduction

I have developed an easel system that uses a regular camera tripod and transforms it into an easel that works very well with all mediums. It is perfect for plein air work in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor or drawing but it also works very well in the studio. I know because I have been using it every day in my own work during the last year.
The system has two components, the Rapp Plate and a Rapp Mixing Tray, that complement each other but they can also be used separately. The tripod also gives you opportunity to take high quality pictures of your subject matter at any time of your painting session.
I have been granted
patent pending for the Rapp Plate and the Rapp Mixing Tray!

Rapp Plate

The Rapp Plate is a made of aluminum and can be described as a platform that is connected to the Quick Release Plate that comes with every camera tripod. It greatly increases the tripods capacity to support a canvas, drawing board or watercolor board or the like. The upside of the Rapp Plate has stripes of industrial strength velcro that can be connected to the backside of any painting surface with velcro dots or stripes.
The first figure shows how the Rapp Plate is set up to be used for plein air painting in oil, acrylic or pastel medium.

Rapp Mixing Tray

The Rapp Plate supports the painting surface, but you may also want easy access to all the supplies that you bring to the painting session without having to look for them else where. The Rapp Mixing Tray is easily but firmly attached to your tripod and can hold your paint tubes, palette. brushes, cups, water containers and paper towels/paint cloths etc.The wings of the tray give room for paint tubes and brushes/knives/cups/containers. The middle section contains your palette area. It has a wooden palette that can be pushed out and handheld if you wish. When you are finished painting the tray, including your uncleaned palette, can be folded and locked for easy transport.
It is made of beautiful elm hardwood in two different sizes, one with a palette size of 9 by 12 inches and one with a palette size of 11 by 14 inches. Within a short time you will be able to order them from my website!
